Being relatively new to the house and techno community, Patrick Campbell’s reputation as a veteran audio engineer, producer
and composer spanning the last 15 years rivals the upper echalons of the world’s audio elite.
His music explores a depth atypical of current club tracks or trends with a heavy focus on creating thoughtful, conceptual and
truly artistic pieces of electronic music not only suited for the dancefloor but also serving as a daily soundtrack for life.
Patrick’s early endeavors in music consisted of playing guitar in a variety of bands that convered genres from post punk,
hard core, experimental forms of metal, shoegaze and ultimately industrial. His introduction to such pioneers of
sound/noise shaping such as Skinny Puppy, Download and then in the years to come, Aphex Twin, Autechre and
Monolake: served as a nail in the coffin so to speak, the final blow which confirmed his fixation and passion for sound design.
As owner of Vellum Recordings, the label serves as his greatest obsession, focusing on bringing his pragmatic vision of house
and techno to you, the audience, and presenting us all with fresh, inventive, insightful manifestations of electronic dance music.
