About Us
Auralism Records was founded in 2005 by Coalition of the Killing members Jason Short and Marc Smith as an outlet for the duo's backlog of productions. Since then, the label has expanded its offerings with Comfort Sessions, a monthly internet radio show on Proton and has grown to include partners Hac Le, Clint Stewart and Roman Stange. The label has also come right in the center of San Francisco's techno renaissance playing host to works by noted hometown talents like Alland Byallo, Dave Aju, and Limaçon amongst others. Auralism has also developed a growing roster of like-minded international talent that now includes names such as Mikael Stavoestrand, Franklin De Costa, and Elon via monthly events such as Lil Brthr and label showcases like the annual Primaveral parties.

Auralism is poised to achieve a fifth anniversary milestone in 2010. In doing so, the label owners are restlessly charting new musical directions to keep the label's sound relevant and fresh in the days ahead. Recent releases by local artists Kenneth Scott and Dead Seal respectively indicate that the so-called techno label's future endeavors will include strong elements of organic musicality, too. Short also promises a full length of original material along with a slew of new releases that will certainly expand the notion of what the label is all about in the coming months. Auralism is one label worth keeping an eye on in 2010.
